Hawg N Sauce

The fish was not very good the portions were very small, look at the photos you will see. The spicy fish bite had less flavor and spice than the regular filets. Homemade Chips and barbecue was good a bit small but good. They were not very busy when I was there which may the service good and the workers help each other that it a really good service. Had heard how good the food was very disappointed.

A great family-owned restaurant. The food was fantastic !! It was so good that we bought extra food to take home for the next day. They have several homemade barbecue sauces to choose from. You have the option of getting your meat prepared without sauce so that you can add your own if you prefer. They have a large outside seating area if the weather permits. They seem to be fully handicap accessible.

Dissatisfied, disappointed.Got the Chicken Platter and the chicken was dry, flavorless and just smothered in BBQ sauce to try and makeup for the dry,dry,dry chicken.The Mac cheese white Velveeta sauce not home made ,same for the baked beans. You can tell they are from a can. The dinner roll also disappointing. I keep on asking if anything was home made but the only answer I got was I don't pay attention they magically appear. And this is Why I really stop at a BBQ place. But when you're hungry any mediocre BBQ will do.I let her know the Chicken was try did she say or do anything?I feel bad for her having and not wanting to lie so she just avoided answering.

A great restaurant in Mount Vernon. We got the corn nuggets, half rack of St. Louis style ribs, and the brisket platter. The corn nuggets were good! Although I've commonly had them with ranch, I was surprised that maple syrup is a choice of dipping sauce. I loved the ribs. They were lathered with sauce and fall apart tender. Several ribs simply came out clean when I went to grab them. My partner enjoyed the sliced brisket as well. Thinly sliced to maximize surface area. Meat was very tender and fatty, in a good way! The service was great, even though it was very busy on a Friday evening. For this great food, you'll need to pay for it. It was about $50 for the appetizer and platters. Be aware the menu pictures listed on the google review page at the time of writing (Jan 2023), are not current. The current menu lacks pork rinds as an appretizer/side, and prices are a bit more. Several items, such as the ribs, are now listed on the menu as "market value" or something along those lines. Your server can tell you the price though. We'll be coming back.

Good food. Worth the drive out from Evansville. For those that like their meat sauced when it comes out, this place will do. They have several sauces to choose from. Large portions and quick and friendly service. The prices are reasonable. For those that don't want their meat sauced on arrival, I'd check with the server to see what they can do. I think they do a decent job with smoking. The ribs and chicken were tasty and properly done. The close slaw was crisp, not too sweet. I enjoyed the hashbrowns casserole. Everyone else's sides were good. No complaints from our party. There is a decent selection of drinks, but not a ton on tap. This is one of the better bbq places in the E'ville area, in my opinion. Indoor and outdoor seating. Live music on occasion. Onion rings and Ida fries/chips are a nice appetizer. I preferred the chips myself but all was good. I added the menus to my review.
